Scientific interests
My main research interests are systematics, taxonomy and evolution of neotropical lizards and snakes. In my PhD project I will try to understand the diversification patterns and the genetic diversity of some Colombian low land snake species widely distributed. For that purpose, we will do phylogeographic and population genetic analyses. In case to unveil new cryptic taxa, we aim to use integrative taxonomy approaches (morphology, genetics, niche modeling) in order to describe them.
